Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

• Upon arrival, the contractor was engaged in excavation using a CAT 349E to the south of the project site for a pond. Dirt was being transported with tandem dump trucks CAT 745, while dozing and leveling were performed with a Komatsu 512PXi. Compaction work was carried out using a CAT 815F2
• Boulders are used in backfilling under the Pond area and necessary instructions are made for the rock Boulders.
• two bucket samples are collected for testing on soils.
• Compaction testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear density gauge, along with general probing using a 3/8″ diameter probe rod.
• Density test results indicate that compacted materials meet the project requirement of 95% of the maximum dry density obtained by a Standard Proctor ASTM 698. necessary instructions are made to the superintendent for more compaction to reach the expected results.
• Proof Roll visual observation is obtained, and the results are satisfactory.
