Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

• Upon arrival, the contractor was engaged in excavation using a Komatsu PC 360LC to the west of the project site. They were also doing cut with a Komatsu PC210LC. Dirt was being transported with two tandem dump trucks, while dozing and leveling were performed with a Komatsu 39PX and a D85EX. Compaction work was carried out using a CAT 563 E. back filling with boulders are observed under the tennis court. necessary instructions are made to superintendent for proof rolling procedures.
• Compaction testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear density gauge, along with general probing using a 3/8″ diameter probe rod.
• Density test results indicate that compacted materials did not meet the project requirement of 95% of the maximum dry density obtained by a Standard Proctor ASTM 698. compaction suggestions are made to the superintendent.
