Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes and material submittals.
The following observations were observed on the site this day.

• The placement and compaction of backfill soil at the construction entrance was in progress using sheeps-foot (CP54B), (RA30), (D51PX) and (CAT330) equipment.
• Construction and placement of Sta 2+00, a 25-foot-long segmental retaining wall section #D was completed.
• Construction and placement of Sta 4+18, a 50-foot-long segmental retaining wall section #B was in progress.
• Excavation and preparation of the base subgrade for placement and installation of storm water pipes progressed.
• Installation and placement of storm water main CBA8, CIA9 and A10 progressed.
• One (1) foot lifts were placed and compacted for the backfill area of the segmental retaining wall section #B using sheeps-foot (CP54B), (SD45B) and trench packer (BMP8500) equipment.
• At the time of arrival our representative observed that the work was in progress for the construction entrance with one (1) foot lifts being placed and compacted using sheeps-foot (CP54B) and (D51PX) equipment.
• Density test results indicate that the compacted material met the project requirements of 95% the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698).
