Observations/Finding

At the request of the client’s representative, our AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative visited the job site to observe the contractor’s work activities from a quality standpoint to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications.  The following observations were made during our evaluation:

Upon arrival at the site, it was observed that Retaining Walls Company contractor was actively working on the retaining wall (almost completed at the time of this report) located at the 2nd entrance to Lakeside Development (see attached photo). After a discussion with the foreman, it was confirmed that no inspections, testing, or observations were requested from ASEC or the local county inspector. This includes the lack of inspection of the footing and any compaction testing for wall backfill as the wall was constructed.

Elsewhere on the site, activities such as soil stockpile relocation and tractor maintenance were observed. No further observations were made on this day.
