Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes and material submittals.
The following observations were observed on the site this day:

• The placement and compaction of backfill for the construction entrance was in progress using CP54B, RA30, D51PX and CAT330 equipment.
• Construction and building of a 25-foot-long segment of retaining wall (SRW) section #D was in progress.
• Construction and building of RCC precast box culverts at the outlet area of the detention pond was in progress.
• Construction and placement of precast RCC wing walls at the four corners of RCC recast box culverts was completed.
• Ten (10) inch lifts were placed and compacted for the backfill area of retaining wall (SRW) section #D using SD45B and trench packer BMP 8500 equipment.
• At the time of arrival our representative observed that work was in progress at the construction entrance with 1-foot lifts being placed and compacted using CP54B and D51PX equipment.
• Density test results indicate that the compacted material met the project requirement of 95% the maximum dry density obtained by a Standard Proctor ASTM 698.
