Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes and material submittals.
The following observations were observed on the site this day:

• The placement and compaction of backfill for the construction entrance was in progress using CP54B, RA30, D51PX and CAT330 equipment.
• Construction of a 25 feet long segment of retaining wall section #D was in progress.
• Construction of RCC recast box culverts at the outlet area of the detention pond was in progress.
• Construction of precast RCC wing walls at the four corners of the RCC precast box culverts was in progress.
• Ten (10) inch lifts were placed and compacted for backfilling of a segment of retaining wall section #D using SD45B and trench packer BMP 8500 equipment.
• At the time of arrival our representative observed that work was in progress for the construction entrance with 1-foot lifts being placed and compacted using CP54B and D51PX equipment.
• Density test results indicate that placed and compacted materials met the project requirements of 95% the maximum dry density obtained by a Standard Proctor ASTM 698.
