Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.

The following observations were observed on the site this day:

• The placement and compaction of backfill for an 8115.8 square feet area progressed using sheeps-foot (CP54B), (RA30), (D51PX) and (CAT330) compactors.
• The placement and compaction of backfill for Section 1 was progressed using sheeps-foot (CP54B), (RA30), (D51PX) and (CAT330) equipment.
• At the time of arrival our representative observed that the work was in progress for Section 1 with 1-foot lifts being placed and compacted using (CP54B) and (D51PX) equipment.
• Proof-rolling tests were conducted for Section #01.  Our representative observed that the surficial soils were pumping and deflecting in several areas.  The soils in these areas are high in moisture content.  It was recommended to scarify and aerate these soils prior to continuing.
