Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

• The placement and compaction of asphalt surface course for Airfield north shoulder between B3 and B5 of runway 5, lane 1 and 2, continued this day.
• At the time of arrival, our representative observed that work was in progress with 12 mm lifts being placed.
• Test results indicate that the compacted materials met the project requirement of 95% of the maximum wet density obtained by the laboratory.
• Test#1, location, lane 1, 120 feet to west from east end, with wet density = 144.8 pcf.
• Test#2, location, lane 1, 330 feet to west from east end, with wet density = 148.0 pcf.
• Test#3, location, lane 1, 430 feet to west from east end, with wet density = 148.1 pcf.
• Test#4, location, lane2, 120 feet to west from east end, with wet density = 147.6 pcf.
• Test#5, location, lane2, 330 feet to west from east end, with wet density = 145.9 pcf.
