Observations/Finding
At the request of the client’s representative, AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative, Amin Azimi visited the job site to observe the contractor’s work activities from a quality standpoint to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications. The following observations were made on site this shift:
- A proof-roll observation was performed on the taxiway 2022 phase B.
- A fully loaded tandem-axle dump truck was used to proof-roll the above-mentioned subgrade with multiple passes across the area.
- No severe yielding and/or deflection was observed during the proof-roll at all areas mentioned above.
- Our representative along with Thomas of ATLQA and the ATLNext representative Braylyn observed the proof-roll.
- Work was being performed in the Lanes 1 and 3 portion of the project on this day. Contractor completed rebar and dowel baskets for these lanes.
- The writer verified proper installation and setup of this lanes 1 and 3, advised the contractor representatives of any minor corrections that may be needed.
- BBH installed and poured concrete for duct bank between MH A-1 and MH A-2.
- CWM was pouring flow fill for the existing manhole.
- ATL Paving was placing GAB for CTB use.
- In addition to this, the writer assisted and observed straight edge testing of phase A on CT.
