Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
- A pre-pour observation performed in the south cargo airfield repair phase2, of the project was performed on this day. The contractor completed rebar and dowel placement.
- The writer visually inspected the installation and setup of these lanes and advised the contractor representatives of any minor corrections that were required.
- Contractor cleaned loose rock, debris and water from the base.
- Dowel bars have epoxy. Embedment depth was found to be 15″ into concrete.
- Our representative along with Salem of ATLQA and the ATLNext representative Braylin signed the pre-pour card.
- The placement of 6 cubic yards of 5000 psi concrete for south cargo, airfield repair phase 2 was performed.The required test limits were determined to be a slump of 6-8 inches, air content of 3-6 %, batch to placement time of 0-90 minutes, and concrete temperature range of 55-95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Concrete observed on this date appeared to be placed in compliance with project specifications with regard to temperature, slump, air content, and batch to placement time.
