Observations/Finding

Our AS Engineering & Consulting, LLC representative was on site to perform a foundation bearing inspection for the following lot footings:

Parkside, Lot Numbers #122, #123, and #124

Lot #122:

• H1F (NW)
  • FT1: Light brown/red sandy silt micaceous rocky, blows = 11.
  • FT2: AR – rock = 1ft 8in, offset AR – rock = 1ft 6in, offset AR = rock 10in.
• H2B (SE)
  • FT1: AR – rock = 6in, offset AR – rock = 11in, offset light brown/white sandy silt micaceous = 15+ blows.
  • FT2: AR – rock = 1ft 3in, offset AR – rock = 4in.
  • Probing: Used 3/8″ diameter probe rod.  Sections on top exhibited soft areas between rocky sections (approximately 4 to 5 inches).

Lot #123:

• H1F (NW)
  • FT1: AR – rock = 4in, offset AR – rock = 9in, offset AR – rock = 6in, offset AR – 11in.
• H2B (SE)
  • FT1: Light brown/red sandy silt micaceous, rocky – 15+ blows.
  • FT2: AR – rock = 1ft 5in, offset AR – rock = 11in, offset AR – rock = 6inches.

Lot #124:

• H1F (NW)
  • FT1: AR – rock = 10in, offset AR – rock = 6in, offset AR – rock = 11in.
• H2B (SE)
  • FT1: Light brown sandy silt micaceous – 8 blows.
  • FT2: Light brown/grey/red sandy silt micaceous – 11 blows.
  • FT3: AR – rock = 2ft 9in, offset AR – rock = 10in.

Additional Information:

• Rebar and Wire Mesh: After the second inspection, both were found to meet job specifications for size, spacing & quantity.
• Informed Austin after the second inspection to demuck and drain out the standing water in the footing due to rain. No confirmation of the issue being completed has been received.
