The reinforcing steel was observed for correct size, number of bars, location of bars, spacing, cleanliness, support against displacement, splicing, clearance and steel grade. Based on observation and field measuring, the reinforcing steel at the above mentioned, previously omitted reinforcing steel appeared to be placed according to shop/field-use drawing, detention pond retaining wall, 1A of 3, dated 18 oct 2023.
Concrete observed on this date appeared to be placed in compliance with project specifications with regard to temperature, slump, air content, but batch to placement time is exceeded from specified time limit.
Note: notified contractor about thickness of the retaining wall. According to project drawings, the wall thickness should be 10 inches, but was measured at 9.5 inches.
