Observations/Finding

Our AS Engineering & Consulting, Inc representative arrived on site to perform soil bearing pressure evaluations for the following lots:

  • Lot #64F – Westend
    • H1:
      • Ft1: Identified as red sandy silt mica with a blow count of 8.
      • Offsets:
        • Offset Ft2: Auger Refusal (AR) encountered, transitioning into rock at depths of 1 foot 7 inches, 1 foot 2 inches, 1 foot 6 inches, and 1 foot 4 inches.
  • Lot #64B – Eastend
    • H2:
      • Ft1: Comprised red/white sandy silt mica with a blow count of 10.
      • Offsets:
        • Offset Ft2: Auger Refusal (AR) encountered, reaching rock layers at depths of 1 foot 2 inches, 11 inches, and 10 inches.

Observations:

  • Wire mesh and rebar were observed appropriately placed on chairs and met project specifications for size, spacing and quantity.

Conclusion: The assessment of Enclave at Parkway, particularly Lots #64F and Lot #64B, revealed varying soil compositions and depths across different footing points. In Lot #64F, the initial footing exhibited red sandy silt w/mica, while multiple offsets encountered rock layers at varying depths. Similarly, in Lot #64B, the main footing consisted of red/white sandy silt w/mica, with several offset points transitioning into rock layers at different depths.
