On October 10, 2023, Vidal Dias from AS Engineering and Consulting conducted a site visit to Kimball Bridge Road to perform geotechnical observations for the planned dam in detention pond area 2. The soil being placed consisted of a red slightly micaceous sandy clay. The material was laid in 8-inch lifts and compacted.

To further evaluate the conditions, four proof-rolls were performed using a loaded dump truck. Observations led to recommendations for the contractors to remove any organic material, particularly tree roots larger than 3 inches in diameter, to enhance the subgrade’s integrity.
