Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
Dear Mr. Holder,
AS Engineering and Consulting LLC (ASEC) is pleased to submit this Rock Exploration Report for a proposed Master Planned Development at the referenced project. Our services were provided in accordance with our proposal PROP2023G191, dated September 20, 2022. A site plan of the proposed development site with the proposed test pit locations was provided by you.
ASEC has been tasked with conducting rock exploration to assess the subsurface conditions along the proposed sewer outfall for the development.
An ASEC representative was present during the controlled excavation process. The work was carried out using a John Deere 200C excavator or similar equipment provided by our client. Approximately seven locations were explored to varying depths below ground surface (bgs) or refusal, whichever came first. These depths were determined based on utility line depths at specific locations. Test pits were numbered TP-01 through TP-07.
The locations and depths of exploration points were selected and marked by you in the field. Test pit locations are indicated on the attached “Test Pit Location Plan.” The attached “Test Pit Log” provides soil descriptions and termination data.
No refusals (due to rock) were encountered in any of the test pit excavations. Please refer to the attached “Test Pit Log” for results related to depths excavated, soil classifications, and groundwater encountered, if applicable.
It is important to note that our recommendations and findings apply specifically to this project. Subsurface conditions in unexplored areas may differ from those encountered at the specified test pit locations. The nature and extent of variations between the test pits may not become evident until the construction process is underway. If variations appear evident or if the proposed construction configuration changes, we would appreciate being retained to review our recommendations.
Please be aware that an environmental assessment of soil, rock, surface or groundwater, the identification of wetlands, cultural resources, or endangered species, was beyond the scope of our services.
