Observations/Finding
AS Engineering and Consulting, LLC. has completed an engineering evaluation of the slab and perimeter footings at the above mentioned residential unit. The footing evaluation was performed by visual inspection, hand probing, and dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) testing. During the evaluation, well compacted fill soils were encountered underlain by residual soils.
Three (3) tests were performed in the pit elevator slab, to depths ranging from 4.5 t0 5 feet below prepared foundation subgrade level. These tests were performed in the approximate center and in opposite corners of the elevator pit.
These soils were found to be capable of supporting the structure utilizing an allowable soil bearing pressure of 1,500 psf.
Reinforcing steel for footings and slab was visually inspected and appeared to be in accordance with approved project specifications, rebar standees were used as needed to provide cover and the rebar appeared to have adequate lap length for its size.
AS Engineering and Consulting, LLC. appreciates the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact us.
