Observations/Finding

As per your request, our representative from AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) conducted a site visit to fulfill quality control inspection and testing responsibilities. Visual observation techniques were employed to ensure alignment with project drawings, specifications, relevant codes, and material submissions. The following on-site observations were made:

The placement and compaction of the Graded Aggregate Base (GAB) for the south of Vault 2.

Upon arrival, it was noted that the Contractor had already compacted the GAB to the finished grade located south of the footing of Vault 2. This compaction was achieved using a Drum Compactor.

The results of density tests performed on this day indicated that the compacted materials met the project requirement of achieving 100% density at the finished grade, which aligned with the maximum dry density obtained through the Modified Proctor test method as per ASTM D 1557-12.
