Observations/Finding

As requested, our AS Engerineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative visited the site for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Contractor continued backfill and compaction for Lots #421, #422, #423, #426 and the roadway.

Contractor continued placing fill for the building lots in lifts of 16 inches or more thick.  Contractor was requested to reduce the lift thickness to approximately 12 inches or less.

Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear gauge (#3430, serial #85759). 

Density test results indicate that the compacted material met project requirement of 90% of the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698).

T3-elevation -14.5 feet from finish grade @ road, Yd 90.49, M%18.9, Compaction: 90.1%

T4-elevation -14 feet from finish grade @ lot 423, Yd 97.3, M%16.8, Compaction: 96.9%

T5-elevation -3.5 feet from finish grade @ lot 421, Yd 92.5, M%16, Compaction: 92.1%
