Observations/Finding

The undersigned ASEC representative was on site as requested by the Client to observe the contractor’s field placement and compaction of soils. Visual observation techniques were employed to ensure the soils were clean and contained no construction debris or organics. The provenance of the soils being placed is from the cut where the third moisture-density relationship (proctor) samples was taken.

Soils in the top 15 feet of this area are primarily comprised of red to tan silty fine to medium sands within the upper 3-4 feet. Soils become coarser and rockier with depth consisting of 3–6-foot diameter boulders scattered within the layer.
