Our ASEC representative visited the site at the contractor’s request to visually inspect footing excavations for the shallow footings at Suncity Lot #144 pod 13, Lot #32 pod 15, and Lot #38 pod 15. The excavation exposed stiff residual silty fine sands. These soils were found to be acceptable to support the proposed one-story structure with an allowable soil bearing pressure of 2000 psf. Concrete should be placed before the onset of inclement weather. If excavations become saturated or softened prior to concrete placement, ASEC should be contacted to revisit the site and recheck the foundation soils.
