Observations/Finding
The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today:
A request was made for a slab inspection for Lots #125,126,127,128,129,130,131 at Parkside at Mason Mill. No Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing could be performed as plastic and gravel covered the future slab area. All rebar was observed to meet job specifications in accordance with size, spacing, and quantity (see note below).
It was observed that several pieces of rebar did not have the necessary clearance. This was remedied while on site with the shortening of several pieces of rebar so they would not protrude beyond the concrete forming.
One issue that was discussed with Allen from Pulte was rebar being placed directly on plumbing lines. This was remedied by raising the rebar.
