Observations/Finding

The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques wee employed to assure compliance with project drawling/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observation were made on site today.

1. Ram Mogulla arrived onsite and met with the site superintendent Morris Pucket in regards to the dewatering actions inside of lot #10. Due the significant amount of groundwater coming from this area, the current dewatering methods are not significant enough to keep up. Ram recommended that the area at the South end of lot #10, be stripped of all fluff and saturated material and down to material that is suitable to sustain the compaction effects of the embankment for a temporary dam. Upon completion, an ASEC inspector verified the depth of compressibility had been achieved, the start of the backfill for the dam wall had begun.
2. The contractor was observed placing backfill in appropriate thickness lifts. As the fill was placed, penetration resistance was preformed at random by the inspector to ensure proper compaction being achieved.
