Observations/Finding
Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day: Location: Footing within a building (Photos attached) Objective: A request was made to make cylinder samples for testing the concrete being placed into a footing inside the building.
Site Observations:

No footing bearing capacity inspections were requested or conducted during this operation.

Concrete was mixed on-site by hand with an unmeasured amount of water, which may impact the consistency and performance of the mix.

Approximately 40 bags of 5000 psi concrete were used in the footing pour.

Concrete Testing:

The first slump test conducted on-site yielded a 4-inch slump.

Seven cylinder samples were prepared on-site for compressive strength testing:

2 cylinders for 3-day strength testing.

2 cylinders for 7-day strength testing.

2 cylinders for 28-day strength testing.

1 cylinder was designated as a "hold" sample.

The cylinder samples were delivered (after 24 hours of curing) to the laboratory for testing.
Conclusion: No additional observations or issues were noted during or after the concrete placement. The test results from the laboratory will determine the adequacy of the concrete's compressive strength over the designated testing periods.
This report summarizes the collection of concrete cylinder samples for testing from a footing pour inside the building.
