Summary *

At the request of the client’s representative, our AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative visited the job site to observe the contractor’s work activities from a quality standpoint to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications.  The following observations were made on site this shift:

Our representative observed the contractor place backfill using a CAT 315F excavator to complete backfilling of MH 9.1-9.3. Contractor added No. 57 stone to 6 inches above pipe. Then contractor added sewer laterals and placed GAB from MH 9.1-9.3 and compacted with a walk-behind roller.

Our representative observed contractors use a PC 490 excavator to backfill 150ft of sewer trench from MH 6.7-6.8. After the trench was excavated, the contractor placed No. 57 stone and Gab near the surface. Gab was compacted with walk-behind roller.

Observations:
<ol>
 	<li>Backfilling Activities:   Contractors placed backfill in sewer laterals and storm trenches. Also Added 6 inches of No. 57 stone, then a GAB.</li>
</ol>

Conclusion: The ongoing backfilling and storm drainpipe installation activities are progressing as planned.
