Summary

<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, </span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.</span> <ul> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The placement and compaction of backfill for Lot #18 and Lot #19 and placement of 54 cubic yards 4000 psi concrete for retaining wall "B" footing, continued this day.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">At the time of arrival, our representative observed that work was in progress with 1-foot lifts being placed and compacted using a 15-ton sheeps-foot CP54B compaction equipment. Compaction testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear density gauge along with general probing using a 3/8" diameter probe rod.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Density test results generally indicated that the compacted materials did not meet the project requirement of 95% of the maximum dry density obtained by a Standard Proctor ASTM 698.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Observed the placement of 54 cubic yards 4000 psi concrete for retaining wall "B" footing.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The required test limits were determined to be a slump of 4-6 inches, air content of 3-6 %, batch to placement time of 0-90 minutes, and concrete temperature range of 55-95 degrees Fahrenheit.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Concrete observed on this date appeared to be placed in compliance with project specifications with regard to temperature, slump, and batch to placement time.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Note: Air content of concrete was lower than specified air content job specifications.</span></li> </ul> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project.
