Summary

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day. <strong>Subject:</strong> On-Site Meeting Regarding Uncontrolled Groundwater Issues <strong>Attendees:</strong> <ul> <li>ASEC Professional Engineer (PE) Ram Mogulla</li> <li>Technician Russell Hendrix</li> <li>Foreman and Superintendent of the grading company</li> <li>Property Owner/Developer</li> </ul> <strong>Discussion:</strong> A meeting was convened on-site to address uncontrolled groundwater issues affecting specific areas of the project site. The meeting attendees discussed potential solutions to mitigate these issues. <strong>Affected Areas:</strong> <ol> <li><strong>First Area (See Diagram):</strong> <ul> <li>The approximate problem area is circled in blue on the provided diagram.</li> <li>Mr. Ram Mogulla of ASEC recommended removing all water from the affected area.</li> <li>One proposed solution involved the installation of a 1 foot x 1 foot "burrito wrap" using No. 57 stone wrapped in geotextile fabric (proposed location marked in yellow on the diagram), to be placed in a slope configuration.</li> <li>This method aims to drain water out of the area, following which a reevaluation with a proof-roll was recommended.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Second Area (See Diagram):</strong> <ul> <li>This area affects Lots #94, 96, and 97, as indicated on the diagram (marked in Blue).</li> <li>The recommendation for this area involved utilizing helical piers on the back corner of the homes or making changes to the foundation design to address the groundwater issue effectively.</li> </ul> </li> </ol> <strong>Recommendations:</strong> <ol> <li>Implement the proposed 1 foot x 1 foot "burrito wrap" using No. 57 stone wrapped in geotextile fabric in the first area to facilitate water drainage and conduct a reevaluation with a proof-roll.</li> <li>Consider the installation of helical piers or modifications to the foundation design in the second area to mitigate groundwater issues impacting specific lots.</li> </ol> <strong>Conclusion:</strong> The meeting concluded with the consensus to proceed with the recommended solutions for addressing uncontrolled groundwater issues in the affected areas. Continuous observation and adaptation of strategies may be necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the implemented measures.
