Observations/Finding
Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day. Site Operations Overview: Upon arrival, topsoil was being redistributed to slope areas throughout the development. Compaction activities were underway at the main road (Sterlington Drive) between stations 1+00 - 2+50, utilizing a Caterpillar CP54B ride-on vibratory sheeps-foot roller. This area serves as the original soil and starting point for future construction lifts. Compaction and Storm Drain Installation Details:

Compaction at Main Road:

Compaction activities were focused on the main road (Sterlington Drive) between stations 1.00 - 2+50.

A Caterpillar CP54B ride-on vibratory sheep's foot roller was utilized to compact.

No further observations were made in this area on the given day.

Storm Drain Installation:

Storm Drain 12-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) sections, each 8 feet long, were being placed from manhole I4 and moving southward.

A jumping jack was employed on the first lift alongside the RCP sections.

However, no backfilling was completed at the time of observation.

Gaskets were observed to be in place.

Notably, no stone bedding was utilized in this installation process.

Recommendations and Observations:

Backfilling Completion:

It is recommended to complete backfilling around the RCP sections promptly after installation.

Conclusion: Site operations included compaction activities on the main road and the installation of storm drain infrastructure. While compaction efforts were observed, backfilling around the RCP sections remained incomplete.
