<h2>Introduction</h2> The undersigned ASEC representative conducted a site investigation on August 30, 2023, to assess the soils in Areas 1 and 4. The objective was to characterize the soil conditions and provide soil classification recommendations. <h2>Topsoil Description for Area 4</h2> The topsoil in Area 4 predominantly consisted of brown clayey sand intermixed with organic material, precisely root matter and small boulders (4' diameter or less). <h2>Contractor Operations for Area 4</h2> Area 4 serves as the staging area mentioned in the previous report, with dimensions approximately 404 feet in length and 50 feet in width. The initial topsoil depth was 4 feet. <h3>Volumetric Analysis for Area 4</h3> <ul> <li><span class="math math-inline"><span class="katex"><span class="katex-mathml">404 ft×50 ft×4 ft=80,800 ft3</span><span class="katex-html" aria-hidden="true"><span class="base"><span class="mord">404</span><span class="mord text"><span class="mord">ft</span></span><span class="mbin">×</span></span><span class="base"><span class="mord">50</span><span class="mord text"><span class="mord">ft</span></span><span class="mbin">×</span></span><span class="base"><span class="mord">4</span><span class="mord text"><span class="mord">ft</span></span><span class="mrel">=</span></span><span class="base"><span class="mord">80</span><span class="mpunct">,</span><span class="mord">800 </span><span class="mord"><span class="mord text">ft</span><span class="msupsub"><span class="vlist-t"><span class="vlist-r"><span class="vlist"><span class="sizing reset-size6 size3 mtight"><span class="mord mtight">3</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></li> </ul> <h3>Engineering Recommendations for Area 4</h3> It is recommended that the topsoil be excavated and utilized for landscaping topsoil within the subdivision or non-structural fill. <h2>Soil Description for Area 1</h2> The soil in Area 1 consisted of wet red and gray clays and muck intermixed with roots and small boulders (diameter of 4' or less). <h2>Contractor Operations for Area 1</h2> Area 1 measures approximately 50 feet in width, 30 feet in length, and had an initial depth of 2.5 feet. The contractor utilized a dozer to blade 3 feet of material from the surface and relocated it to the southern boundary of the lot (in a non-structural area). <h3>Volumetric Analysis for Area 1</h3> <ul> <li><span class="math math-inline"><span class="katex"><span class="katex-mathml">50 ft×30 ft×2.5 ft=3,750 ft3</span><span class="katex-html" aria-hidden="true"><span class="base"><span class="mord">50</span><span class="mord text"><span class="mord">ft</span></span><span class="mbin">×</span></span><span class="base"><span class="mord">30</span><span class="mord text"><span class="mord">ft</span></span><span class="mbin">×</span></span><span class="base"><span class="mord">2.5</span><span class="mord text"><span class="mord">ft</span></span><span class="mrel">=</span></span><span class="base"><span class="mord">3</span><span class="mpunct">,</span><span class="mord">750</span><span class="mord"><span class="mord text">ft</span><span class="msupsub"><span class="vlist-t"><span class="vlist-r"><span class="vlist"><span class="sizing reset-size6 size3 mtight"><span class="mord mtight">3</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></li> </ul> <h2>Visual Documentation</h2> Both areas are marked on the attached drawing for further clarification. Area 4 is located in Pod 2. <h2>Recommendations for Area 4</h2> It is recommended that the topsoil be excavated and utilized for landscaping topsoil within the subdivision or non-structural fill.
