The primary objective was to visually assess the work in progress, verifying with the Project Plans, Specifications, Codes and Standards, and Material Submittals. <strong>Subsurface Conditions:</strong> <ul> <li><strong>Wall B Dimensions:</strong> The wall under observation, Wall B, spans a length of 51.5 feet.</li> <li><strong>Compaction Analysis:</strong> Probing conducted along the entire alignment of Wall B met refusal at an average depth of 2 inches below the existing grade. The alignment appeared to be stable.</li> <li><strong>Fill Details:</strong> The contractor was observed placing fill in increments of 6-inch loose lifts. The fill material was identified as red tan micaceous silty fine to medium sands.</li> <li><strong>Nuclear Density Gauge Test Results:</strong> <ul> <li><strong>Compaction Test 1:</strong> <ul> <li>Wet Density: 108.0 pcf</li> <li>Dry Density: 86.0 pcf</li> <li>Moisture Content: 26.1%</li> <li>Max Dry Density from Proctor: 86.0 pcf</li> <li>Optimum Moisture from Proctor: 22.3%</li> <li>Calculated Compaction: 100%</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Compaction Test 2:</strong> <ul> <li>Wet Density: 106.2 pcf</li> <li>Dry Density: 84.3 pcf</li> <li>Moisture Content: 26.1%</li> <li>Max Dry Density from Proctor: 86.0 pcf</li> <li>Optimum Moisture from Proctor: 22.3%</li> <li>Calculated Compaction: 98%</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Compaction Test 3:</strong> <ul> <li>Wet Density: 107.1 pcf</li> <li>Dry Density: 85.0 pcf</li> <li>Moisture Content: 26.1%</li> <li>Max Dry Density from Proctor: 86.0 pcf</li> <li>Optimum Moisture from Proctor: 22.3%</li> <li>Calculated Compaction: 99%</li> </ul> </li> </ul> Based on the results from the field density tests, it can be concluded that the compacted fill meets with the project specifications.</li> </ul> <strong>Site Activities:</strong> <ul> <li>The contractor was actively engaged in compacting fill for Wall B, verifying it reached the specified elevation as per the project plans.
