Summary *

Upon arrival at the Northfields site today, observations were carried out in the designated zone on the northern aspect of the development within the creek vicinity. The saturated soils identified previously had been undercut to a depth of 1.5 feet. Stabilization efforts followed this, which incorporated a foot of riprap as a foundational layer. An additional stratum of No. 57 aggregate, a foot deep, was also integrated and precisely graded to construct a solid base for the headwall.

Post headwall establishment, preliminary groundwork commenced for the incorporation of the initial section of pipe infrastructure. However, during this phase, an inconsistency was noted in relation to the projected location of the waterline as per Reference Drawing C-305. It became evident that necessary revisions to the original schematic representations were not performed to account for these discrepancies. The contractor has recognized this and confirmed that alterations in the waterline placement will be mandatory.

In the context of ASEC's role at the site, it is worth reiterating that our mandate involves oversight, inspection, and providing professional recommendations based on the site's prevailing conditions. We do not, however, undertake the physical implementation of the corrective measures. We emphasize the critical importance of ensuring project schematics are accurate and current to preempt potential incongruities during site operations.

<strong>Recommendations:</strong>

1. Instigate corrective measures to reconcile the waterline location with the site's actual conditions.
2. Update schematic representations, specifically Reference Drawing C-305, to reflect the actual conditions on site.
