Summary *

Our AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING representative visited the site at the client's request to perform DCP testing in the foundation for the Double Barrel structure. Upon arrival, the undersigned representative noted that the area to be inspected for bearing pressures had already been excavated to one foot below the bottom of slab elevation, and approximately one foot of GAB was already installed. The current elevation within this area is the bottom of the slab elevation.

Our ASEC representative attempted to perform an automatic DCP test at two (2) locations within the footprint. Approximate locations were at E10 and E12, as shown in the attached drawing DCP 1 &amp; DCP 2. The test encountered refusal at approximately 15 inches below the existing grade at DCP 1 and approximately 30 inches at DCP 2.

Based on our discussions with CW Matthew personnel, Josh Nelson, and the visible stockpile of material excavated, we understand this area was backfilled with boulders in the past; the DCP possibly refused on such boulders.  We were not able to investigate past the refusal point to verify the bearing capacity in these areas. CW Matthews and representative Josh Nelson was notified of these results.
