Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

• At Lot #1024, near the pond, gray soils (alluvium) and organic material (buried wood) was encountered in the excavation. A CAT 336F excavator was used to dig it out, and the material was then moved using a CAT 745 dump truck. The pit being excavated was approximately 57 feet long, 39 feet wide, and 6 feet deep. After the gray material was removed, the pit was backfilled with suitable soil using a Komatsu D39PXi dozer. Finally, a CAT 815F compactor was used to complete compaction.
