Observations/Finding

At the request of the client’s representative, our AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative visited the job site to observe the contractor’s work activities from a quality standpoint to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications.  The following observations were made on site this shift:

Our representative observed the contractor continue to place and compact fill in Section 1.  Probing with a 3/8″ diameter probe rod was performed during fill placedment to verify subgrade stability following compaction.

Observations:

1. Backfilling Activities:   Contractor compacted Section 1 in 8-inch lifts and compacted.

Conclusion: The ongoing backfilling activities are progressing as planned.
