Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

The undersigned arrived onsite to observe CMU block placement for retaining wall #1 and visually inspect the footings.

1: The footing was observed by our ASEC representative, Russell Hendrix.  It was recommended to remove approximately 6 inches of soil and replace with #57 stone to work above the water intrusion.

2: Our representative noted the backfill behind the block in the cells was #57 stone.

3: The soil backfill was placed in 12-inch compacted lifts.

4: No. 57 stone was utilized 1 foot behind the block and within the cells.
