Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, our ASEC representative was on site to observe site activities this day. The following was observed and peformed:
On-site density testing for DOA Fiber DOA 17A
Date: 05/23/23-05/24/23
Location: DOA Fiber [DOA 17A, north side of north parking Deck]
Objective:
The objective of this report is to provide a summary of the density test conducted at the DOA Fiber DOA 17A site. The density test was carried out by an ASEC technician Isaac Davis to assess the compaction and moisture levels of various lifts within the project area.
Procedure:
- ASEC technician arrived on site at DOA 17A.
- BBH contractors completed conduit installation, tying it into the manhole.
- Density test readings were taken for each lift as described below:
Test Results:
Lift #1:
-
- Initial Test Reading:
- Wet Density: 127.0 pcf
- Dry Density: 116.0 pcf
- Moisture Content: 10.3%
- Compaction: 93.6%
Lift #2:
- Wet Density: 121.1 pcf
- Dry Density: 117.1 pcf
- Moisture Content: 3.4%
- Compaction: 94.5%
- Retest Reading
- Wet Density: 123.1 pcf
- Dry Density: 115.7 pcf
- Moisture Content: 6.4%
- Compaction: 93.3%
Lift #3:
- Wet Density: 121.4 pcf
- Dry Density: 113.5 pcf
- Moisture Content: 7.0%
- Compaction: 91.6%
Conclusion:
Upon completion of the density tests, it was observed that the measured values for all lifts were within the specified limits, indicating satisfactory compaction and moisture levels. The project area at DOA 17A met the required specifications based on the test results.
