Observations/Finding
As requested, our AS Engerineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative arrived on site for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day:
Contractor continued to work on Lot #55 to Lot #63 and on Lot #66. Compaction was performed using a sheeps-foot roller.
Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear gauge (#3430, serial #85759).
Density test results indicate that the compacted materials met job specifications of 90% of the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698). See attached picture for approximate test locations,
Density testing result:
Moisture-Density Relationship (proctor) = 96.5 pcf @ 22.2%
T1-elevation -1′ from finish grade, Yd 88.0, M%30.1, Compaction: 91.2%
T2-elevation -1′ from finish grade, Yd 87.6, M%33.1, Compaction: 90.7%
T3-elevation -1′ from finish grade, Yd 87.9, M%30.2, Compaction: 91.08%
Moisture-Density Relationship (proctor) = 99.0 pcf @ 21.4%
T4-elevation -1′ from finish grade, Yd. 92.8, M%27.2, Compaction: 93.7%
T5-elevation -2′ from finish grade, Yd 90.8, M%27.9, Compaction: 91.7%
T6-elevation -3′ from finish grade, Yd 93.7, M%24.9, Compaction: 94.6 %
