Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, our ASEC representative arrived on site for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. the following observations were observed on site this day.
Contractor continued work on Lot #1 to Lot #5. Fill was placed and spread using a dozer. Compaction was performed using a sheeps-foot roller.
Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear gauge (#3430, serial #85759).
Density test results indicate that the compacted materials did not meet the project specification of 90% of the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698). The weather today was rainy and moisture contents were found to be too high. It was recommended to remove these soils and scarify and aerate before recompacting. Contractor elected to postpone work on this area to another day.
Density testing result:
Moisture-Density Relationship = 96.5 @ 22.2%
T1-elevation 3 feet @ from finish grade, Yd 84.5, M%32.5, Compaction: 87.5 %
