Observations/Finding
The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today:
A meeting was held with Ram Mogulla of ASEC, Russ Hendrix Technician with ASEC, & Chris superintendent with Charles Pruitt company to discuss concerns with soil work around the main proposed road and creek area.
After removing unsuitable soil from the banks of the creek a mix of soil & recycled concrete would be used to form a stabilizing layer. The concrete would be broken into pieces not larger than 12 inches width x 24 inches in length. It was recommended the concrete would not be stacked on top of each other to avoid potential voids. All recycled concrete would be place horizontally. The next lift would be a 2 foot bridge lift with available soil. After the bridge lift all further lifts would be 8 to 12 inches and compacted with a sheeps foot with the vibrator turned off. A concern would be a vibratory roller would bring water from the creek up through the soil.
It was also discussed the the slope of pipe installed must flow correctly to continue a natural flow of water.
